ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKI NATIONAL PARK

Świętokrzyski National Park was established in 1950 as the second in Poland, among other reasons for the protection of forest communities with dominant fir. Currently, it covers an area of 7,626 ha.

A great peculiarity of the Park is the gravel area, which was created as a result of cracking processes and weathering of very resistant rocks (quartzite sandstones) in an environment with high temperature amplitudes. As a result, the northern slopes of the Łysogórski and Jeleniowski Ranges of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains are covered with gigantic rock debris. The rocks have not been overgrown with vegetation for thousands of years.

NATIONAL MUSEUM IN KIELCE

The National Museum in Kielce is a facility with over 100 years of tradition, which continues the traditions of the Kielce Branch of the Polish Touring Society (PTK), founded in 1908. The beginning of activity is considered to be October 8, 1908 - the date of entry into the inventory of the first monument - fossilized wood from Miedziana Góra. Currently, the National Museum in Kielce consists of five departments: the former Palace of Krakow Bishops in Kielce, the Henryk Sienkiewicz Palace in Oblęgorek, the Museum of Stefan Żeromski's School Years, the Museum of Dialogue between Cultures and the Archaeological Museum in Wiślica.

The pride of Kielce is the former Palace of Krakow Bishops - one of the most magnificent and best preserved residences from the Vasa era. The palace, located in the historic part of the city, has original interiors from the 17th and 18th centuries with unique elements of architectural design: frame ceilings with paintings from Tomasz Dolabella's workshop.

THE MUSEUM OF THE KIELCE COUNTRYSIDE

The Museum of the Kielce Countryside focuses on collecting, protecting and sharing monuments of folk culture from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, with particular emphasis on folk architecture.

The main object of the museum is the Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia, located on the road No. 7 from Kielce to Krakow. This is where the world stopped in the 19th and 20th centuries. Wooden houses are waiting for residents who have left for work. It seems as if the small-town apothecary went to the back room for a while, and the miller went to get grain for flour...

The other branches of the Museum of the Kielce Countryside are the Laszczyk Manor in Kielce, the Mausoleum of the Martyrdom of Polish Villages in Michniów, the Czernikiewiczów Farm in Bodzentyn and the Stone Windmill in Szwarszowice
